THE AVENGERS | Biggest-grossing movie in Philippine history! Grosses P101-M IN 2 DAYS!!!

MANILA, April 27, 2012 – “Marvel's The Avengers” grossed a staggering P100.76-million in its first two days of release nationwide, according to Victor R. Cabrera, managing director of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Philippines.

The film is on track to be the biggest-grossing movie in Philippine history as it marches on to its first weekend when box-office attendance significantly surges.

“Marvel's The Avengers” is already ahead of “Spider-Man 3” – the country's current highest-grossing movie ever – whose first-two days gross back in 2007 was P91.71-M.

Bowing in 467 screens, “The Avengers” recorded the biggest receipts in SM North EDSA (P6,165,744), SM Mall of Asia (P5,085,714), SM Megamall (P4,310,903), Trinoma (P3,993,746), SM Cebu (P3,360,436), Glorietta 4 (P2,839,283), Newport (P2,454,528), Gateway (P2,287,513), Eastwood (P2,249,819) and SM Fairview (P2,182,793).

Warner unveils footage of “THE HOBBIT” shot with new technology

BURBANK, CA, April 24, 2012 — Warner Bros. Pictures screened approximately 10 minutes of never-before-seen footage from New Line Cinema and MGM’s upcoming epic “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” which showcased the filmmaking innovation of 48 frames-per-second (fps), doubling the typical frame rate of 24 fps. The footage was part of the studio’s presentation at CinemaCon, the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO).

The film, slated for worldwide release beginning December 14, 2012, is the first major motion picture to be made using this state-of-the art high-frame-rate technology.

The footage was introduced via a taped greeting from director Peter Jackson, who gave a bit of history as to how 24 fps became the industry standard and why today’s technology allows for higher frame rates. He also explained that 48 fps is actually closer to the way the human eye views the world. Jackson offered, “As a filmmaker, I always want to create a strong sense of reality, to allow the audience to lose themselves in whatever the cinematic story is that I’m presenting. Shooting and projecting at 48 fps gives you the illusion that a hole has been cut in the wall of the cinema, and you’re watching the story unfold with a heightened sense of reality. It’s terrific for 3D; I’ve looked at the 48 fps dailies for ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ in 3D for over a year now, and with the reduction in strobing and flicker, it is a much more gentle experience on your eyes. 48 fps is not just limited to 3D. A film shot in 48 fps looks fantastic when projected in 2D, and converts well to 24 fps as well.”

American Idol news: RYAN SEACREST confesses "I am a JESSICA SANCHEZ supporter and voted 250 times for her last week"

I pulled this of another blog page and source says that it's from LA Times. In the article, American Idol host Ryan Seacrest talks about Elise Testone's elimination and that he gets a pretty good idea on how might go home. He also confesses that he is a Jessica Sanchez supporter and that he will continue to support her to the end.

Here's what we got from LA Times as Ryan speaks about last night's eliminations.

Ryan Seacrest: "I knew this was coming. I have taken a poll since Top 7 on who’s going to be eliminated next and the response for the past two weeks was “Elise Testone“."

"I am a Jessica Sanchez supporter (isn’t that obvious already?!), and I think I’m a bit of an ageist I think. Elise Testone seem to be a bit too old for American Idol, don’t you think? I’m not saying that because I think she’s a great artist and has a great voice as well but AI is simply not for her. I mean, she’s 28-years old. I know that I shouldn’t be saying that but life sucks and it is what it is. I’ve been eliminated from some things in my life because of my age – it’s a fact of life."

JESSICA SANCHEZ | Most watched on American Idol's YouTube last night. See ranking here

There have been rumors that Filipina-Mexican Idol hopeful Jessica Sanchez holds the record for being the Idol with the highest votes in AI's history. Well, true or not - she certainly is the most watched contestant on YouTube based on last night's episode. It also shows that YouTube is consistent with the votes wherein Elise Testone is the least watched thus she went home.

It may be true as predicted that Jessica might indeed make it to the Final 2. So, let's show our support and keep sharing her videos and performances and let's be proud that another Filipino is making a name in the international scene, if not the biggest international platform in the world.

And as for YouTube? Well, see for yourself... Here are the YouTube rankings for last night's show as of 04.27.12 3:00pm:

PART 1
Views
77,134 - Jessica Sanchez (Bohemian Rhapsody)
20,175 - Philip Phillips (Fat Bottomed Girls)
17,351 - Joshua Ledet (Crazy Little Thing Called Love)
16,803 - Skylar Laine (The Show Must Go On)
14,714 - Hollie Cavanagh (Save Me)
14,651 - Elise Testone (I Want It All)

PART 2
82,544 - Jessica Sanchez (Dance With My Father)
24,585 - Hollie Cavanagh (The Climb)
19,512 - Joshua Ledet (Ready For Love)
18,940 - Philip Phillips (The Stone)
11,359 - Elise Testone (Bold As Love)
11,324 - Skylar Laine (Tattoos On This Town)

If YouTube were to be a reference for who's going home next. It seems Skylar or Hollie may be in trouble...  But don't be too confident because even Philip Phillips doesn't look too secure in this ranking.

American Idol update: Bottom 3 regular ELISE TESTONE goes home and no one is surprised

No Surprise On 'American Idol': Elise Testone Exits. Perpetual cellar-dweller joined in bottom three by Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine.

Another one bit the dust, but this one wasn't hard to see coming.

After two weeks of shocking elimination episodes, "American Idol" took a break from the surprises Thursday (April 26), sending perpetual bottom-dweller Elise Testone home.

Testone, the 28-year-old from Charleston, South Carolina, had faced elimination so many times that "Idol" mentor Jimmy Iovine joked she had a "vacation home" in the bottom three.

JUSTIN BIEBER joins third “MEN IN BLACK” cast

The superstar will appear in the blockbuster in a surprising role — find out what he will be doing!

Justin Bieber is making his next big splash on the big screen, starring in the huge summer hit Men In Black 3!

Justin, 18, will be playing an alien in the creature feature, director Barry Sonnenfeld tells Collider.

“In this [installment] there are a few people that you’ll see up on the surveillance board, including Lady Gaga, Tim Burton, who probably knows more about aliens than I do, and let’s see who else… Justin Bieber,” he said. “The challenge is getting celebrities that are famous, will give you permission and won’t be like ‘Who’s that guy?’ in 10 years.”

American Idol update: JESSICA SANCHEZ continues to blow the judges and America away! Sings Dance With My Father

Jessica Sanchez goes for the heartstrings on 'American Idol' tonight.

The amazing Filipina-Mexican sings Luther Vandross' "Dance With My Father," as the "American Idol" finalists get to pick their own song for their second performance tonight.

It's a great choice; we could have a moment, she's singing this for her dad, who's about to be deployed overseas for the third time.

Emotional performance from the get-go; just pure vocals spilling out. Her tone is perfect; she's playing with all the possibilities of the lyrics, not going too fast. It was a little too smooth, too polished maybe, but still effective.

Jennifer Lopez:
"That may have been the best I've ever heard that song sang." Loved the "tenderness, the feeling, your vocal ability."

Steven Tyler:
"I don't think you can sing a song bad."

Randy Jackson:
Praises how natural her feel for the song was, and asks, "Do you know what was wrong with it? Absolutely nothing!"

JAMES FRANCO'S brother, DAVE is “21 JUMP STREET” villain

Soon, he will be recognized for his own achievements. But for now, actor-on-the-rise Dave Franco may have to settle with being referred to as the younger brother of James Franco. Dave's campaign to move out of big brother's shadow shifts to high gear as he plays the villain in Columbia Pictures' new action-comedy “21 Jump Street,” a recent No.1 box-office hit in the U.S.

In the film, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) were enemies in high school who became unlikely friends in Police Academy. While they may not be the best cops on the beat, they have a chance to turn it around when they join the police department's secret Jump Street unit, run by Captain Dickson (Ice Cube). They trade in their guns and badges for backpacks and use their youthful appearances to go undercover...in high school!

Out Magazine reveals | ADAM LEVINE's gay brother is just a hot as the Maroon 5 front man

In this month’s Out magazine, sex-on-legs rocker Adam Levine chats about his career, his disdain for the sexual politics on American Idol, and how his family knew his brother Michael was gay when he was in diapers.

“I can single-handedly dispel any ideas that sexuality is acquired,” he says, laughing. “Trust me, you’re born with it. My brother [Michael, at right] is gay, and we knew when he was two. We all knew.”

He also takes a dig at the competition, ragging on American Idol for allegedly pushing contestants to stay in the closet if they’re gay.

“What’s always pissed me off about Idol is wanting to mask that, for that to go unspoken,” he said. “C’mon. You can’t be publicly gay? At this point? On a singing competition? Give me a break. You can’t hide basic components of these people’s lives. The fact that ‘The Voice’ didn’t have any qualms about being completely about it is a great thing.”

IRON MAN 3 | GUY PEARCE is ‘Extremis’ geneticist Aldrich Killian

The casting of Guy Pearce in Iron Man 3 (2013) answers the question of who will play Aldrich Killian in the Shane Black directed film. Filming next month, Guy Pearce’s geneticist Aldrich Killian is intergal to Iron Man 3‘s plotline, which will be loosely based on Extremis. Warren Ellis’ six-issue Extremis introduced nanotechnology to Stark’s technologies.

On the Extremis plot line from the comic book:
Through trial and error, the brilliant Maya Hansen constructed Extremis, a bio-electronics package fitted into a few billion graphic nanotubes and suspended in a carrier fluid. The package, when injected into the human genome, was meant to hack the body’s repair center and rewrite the normal human blueprint with a better one. When the human brain is convinced that the Extremis blueprint is the correct one, it shuts the human down, leaving the human needing nutrients intravenously injected during the following days while the body rebuilds. Under the premise that she would use her new creation for military efforts, Maya obtained military funding for her operation.

Maya learned that the military was pulling her funding before she could try Extremis on a live subject. She and her partner at Futurepharm, Aldrich Killian, decided that they should put Extremis into the hands of criminals, then involve Tony Stark’s creation, Iron Man, against the Extremis-enhanced criminal. She figured that if they could thus prove the value of Extremis, it would help her save countless human lives after her funding was restored. She and Aldrich stole Extremis and put it into the hands of terrorists.

Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Don Cheadle are all reprising their previous roles for the previous Iron Man films.

Production on Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 is set to start in May 2012. Iron Man 3 will be released in US theaters through Walt Disney Pictures on May 3, 2013.

21 JUMP STREET | Holds sneak previews on April 23 & 24

The breakout comedy of the year “21 Jump Street” from Columbia Pictures will have special sneak previews in selected theaters everywhere on Monday and Tuesday, April 23 & 24.

Starring the hilariously dysfunctional duo of Jonah Hill (“Moneyball”) and Channing Tatum (“The Vow,” “G.I. Joe”), “21 Jump Street” is the big screen re-imagining of the iconic '90s detective TV series which famously launched the career of superstar Johnny Depp.

In the action-comedy, Schmidt (Hill) and Jenko (Tatum) were enemies in high school who became unlikely friends in Police Academy. DJANGO UNCHAINED” cast LEONARDO DI CAPRIO & JAMIE FOXX at “Summer of Sony” event

The personal appearance of the cast of Columbia Pictures' new epic adventure “Django Unchained” was one of the major highlights of the “Summer of Sony” event, held recently in Cancun, Mexico.

Gracing the event were Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington and Quentin Tarantino, who wrote and directed the film.

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, “Django Unchained” revolves around Django (Foxx), a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.

Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.

Django and Schultz’s search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (DiCaprio), the proprietor of “Candyland,” an infamous plantation where slaves are groomed by trainer Ace Woody (Kurt Russell) to battle each other for sport. Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave. Their moves are marked, and a treacherous organization closes in on them. If Django and Schultz are to escape with Broomhilda, they must choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival…

“Django Unchained” is produced by Stacey Sher, Pilar Savone and Reginald Hudlin. The executive producers are Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Michael Shamberg, Shannon McIntosh, and James Skotchdopole.

“Django Unchained” will be released in the U.S. on December 25, 2012 by The Weinstein Company, and in the Philippines in early 2013 by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. American Idol update | COLTON DIXON speaks about being eliminated and shares "My Biggest Regret"

Colton Dixon may be a unique singer, but so many singers in past Idol competitions have also presented themselves in such a way. When Colton started in the search, he did generate attention because of his beautiful eyes. He was simple, cute and with a unique voice. But as the competition went on, he began experimenting and sang too much "out of character" songs, most of which were even girls' songs (which makes us go "Hmmm....." I don't think he's straight...) and began overdoing so many things.

As Jimmy said the night of the elimination, there was so much going on with Colton. Weird song choices, colors in his hair, strange coats and colored pants -  becoming an Adam Lambert wannabee and almost carrying Freddie Mercury's fashion sense. Thus the voice and performance became one strange overwhelming overdone exhibition. Colton has a strong tendency to be over acting.

Colton Dixon‘s elimination completely took the world by surprise — everyone thought he was going to make it all the way! HollywoodLife.com caught up with him after the show to get his take on the judges’ decision and what he thinks could have saved him.

America’s Next Top Model | TYRA BANKS fires all judges

There’s been a major shake up over at ‘Americas Next Top Model’ and Tyra Banks even confirmed the news on her Twitter — read on to find out what happened!

The 19th season of America’s Next Top Model is going to be almost unrecognizable. It has just been announced that longtime stars of the show Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel and J Alexander will not be returning to the hit series.

The show’s creator and star, Tyra Banks confirmed the shocking news on Twitter by saying: “Fierce & love 2 my Nigel, Jay & Miss J ANTM turned us in2 a family. Excited for what the future holds for us.”

This parting of ways comes right on the heels of an all time ratings low for the current cycle of top model dubbed British Invasion.

The New York Post is reporting that the trios contracts were not renewed. This is surprising since Nigel was the show’s photographer and photo shoot director Manuel have been with the series since day one.

Nigel took to his blog last night to write: “Many of you have come to know me over the past eight years on the show, during which we have shared numerous amazing adventures, It has been an exciting chapter in my life.”

Jay also tweeted this quote: “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination. — Carl Rogers”

It has yet to be announced who is being considered to take their places.

Next: Nigel talks about being fired from the show

American Idol news! Overrated Lambert wannabee COLTON DIXON eliminated! YES! YES! YES!

American Idol never fails to shock. COLTON DIXON, a show favorite was sent home! FINALLY!!!

Well it's about time!!! Colton to be honest is completely overrated. Strip him of all the styling and and production, his voice is ugly. He only gets away with it by batting his eyelashes and playing cute.

Elise Testone, Colton Dixon and Hollie Cavanagh made up the shocking bottom three on ‘American Idol’ April 19.

Who had a bad night on American Idol?

There was no use guessing ahead of time who would be kicked off: Elise Testone probably got the least positive feedback on Wednesday. Jessica Sanchez sounded fierce, but the voters tried to get rid of her last week. Hollie Cavanagh did better than usual. Colton Dixon had one top-notch song and one just so-so.

In any case, tonight's blood-letting was going to be painful, especially if the voters decided to throw the judges for a loop like they did last time.

So, did they? - Yup!

Just when we thought the natural order of things had been restored with Hollie and Elise back in the bottom three, American Idol ended up saying goodbye to Colton—who was in the bottom three for the first time!

Colton handled his ouster with aplomb, giving the booing fans a little wink as if reminding them not to worry because they hadn't heard the last of him. (But they have until the Idol finale, at least.)

"I need to apologize," he told the judges. "I wasn't myself last night, and I get it, and I appreciate what you told me last night. I'll take that when I'm making a record."

"You'll make many records," Jennifer Lopez assured him.

"You have a huge career ahead of you," added Randy Jackson.

"To me, Phillip and Colton finished on opposite sides of the game," mentor Jimmy Iovine had observed earlier. He seemed to loathe everything about Colton doing Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" (and that was the better of his two performances!) while feeling that Phillip had nailed Usher's "U Got It Bad."

Ryan Seacrest toyed with Jessica and Joshua Ledet, who was also in the bottom three last week but utterly amazing yesterday, but he could only do so much before sending them to safety.

"I'm afraid you didn't get the right number of votes...to put you in the bottom three," Seacrest said. Ba-dum-dum.

Male stripper movie ‘MAGIC MIKE’ trailer | CHANNING TATUM shows his... Skills!

Channing & Matthew McConaughey look crazy sexy in the first official trailer for ‘Magic Mike.’ We can’t wait to see it!

Channing Tatum isn’t shy about his pre-Hollywood life as a stripper. In fact, he’s proud of it! And he’s showing off the skills that made him a sexy sensation in his new movie Magic Mike, which also stars Matthew McConaughey and Alex Pettyfer as — what else — strippers!

Also starring Olivia Munn and Cody Horn, the movie tells the story of a stripper who learns there’s more to life than being — as Zoolander put it so eloquently — “really, really ridiculously good looking.”

Our only complaint about the first official trailer is that it fails to showcase some of the other guys we’re excited about, including True Blood‘s Joe Manganiello and White Collar‘s Matt Bomer. We’d take either one of them over 1,000 Alex Pettyfers any day.

Watch the full trailer below, then vote: Which Magic Mike stripper are YOU most excited to see?

American Idol news! JESSICA SANCHEZ slays again with Alicia Key's Fallin'!!!

After a dramatic intro reminding us of Jessica Sanchez’s almost-elimination last week and a shoutout to the legendary Dick Clark, who passed away today, it’s time to jump in and get started — the Idols are singing two songs each tonight, which means we have 14 performances to get through in the next two hours! For the first round, the Idols will be singing a song from the past decade, and in the second round, they’ll be taking on some classic soul tunes.

Jessica Sanchez, “Fallin’”: Jessica’s hair is really big tonight. It looks awesome and we’re jealous. In less superficial commentary, she sounds fantastic, of course, because she always does, but this is still a little empty-feeling. Gorgeous vocals, but not a whole lot of emotional connection. “That was the passion that you released,” Steven says. “The way you play with songs is just crazy,” Jen says. “Your talent is so otherworldly to me on this show,” Randy says.

Hollie Cavanagh, “Rolling in the Deep”: Bold move, Hollie. Those are some very big and pretty much flawless shoes to fill. She starts out acapella, which is kind of cool. This is actually a lot better than we expected! It’s not, like, the most amazing cover of this song ever, but it’s solid and enjoyable and our favorite Hollie performance in ages. Or maybe ever. “You finally did what America was waiting for you to do... you ruffled your feathers,” Steven Tyler says. “I am so happy right now... that’s exactly what we’ve been waiting for,” Jennifer Lopez says. “I’m not gonna say it was perfect, but it was close to perfect,” Randy Jackson says.

TV vampire classic “DARK SHADOWS” now a hilarious movie, boasts of an impressive cast led by JOHNNY DEPP

From visionary director Tim Burton comes the big-screen adaptation of the TV vampire classic “Dark Shadows” featuring an all-star cast, led by perennial collaborator Johnny Depp.

The film also stars Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Jonny Lee Miller, Jackie Earle Haley, Chloe Grace Moretz, Victoria Winters and Gully McGrath.

“Dark Shadows” begins in the year 1752, when Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Depp) has the world at his feet—or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

GQ's girl is BATTLESHIP star and Andy Roddick's wife | BROOKLYN DECKER

She's a fast talker. She speaks her mind. She looks bonkers in a bikini. Yes, She's still married to that handsome tennis player who almost always makes it to the quarterfinals. But don't worry—she says we have permission to stare. That's why Brooklyn Decker is, now and forever, the kind of girl who really floats our boat.

If the men of America have been waiting for Andy Roddick to blow it with his smoking-hot wife, Brooklyn Decker, a golden opportunity may have come and gone a few months ago. It happened while the couple were watching Bridesmaids—her sixth time, his first—and Roddick made the mistake of saying aloud what he thought of Kristen Wiig's character: "That chick is crazy." Decker swiftly corrected him, both in the hotel room and on Twitter. "I feel like her character is my inner soul," she explains now. "The ways she acts are my inner thoughts, but I just can't express them because they're too nerdy. So if he was calling her crazy, I guess that makes me slightly crazy."

Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

Animation directors return with R13-rated “21 JUMP STREET” | Cast led by CHANNING TATUM

Columbia Pictures wanted a fresh take for its new action-comedy “21 Jump Street,' so an intense search was held for a director that could make the new vision pop on the screen. They got two for the price of one: Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, who had previously helmed the acclaimed animated hit “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.”

Could the directors of a family friendly animated film possibly be the right choice for this R-rated live-action action-comedy? “We felt like we wanted to do something that was the exact opposite of what we had just done – although, to be fair, `Cloudy' is an action comedy, just geared to a different audience. Still, we had a lot to prove,” Miller explains. “So we made a whole presentation that showed what we would do. We knew we had to do a little razzle-dazzle.”

CARRIE UNDERWOOD | The Billboard Cover Story and why she is the Hottest Female Country Star!

Few female vocalists in any genre can boast a more stylistically diverse résumé than Carrie Underwood. In the past year alone, she's scored a No. 1 country hit with pal Brad Paisley, partnered with rock icon Steven Tyler for top-rated CMT show "Crossroads" and performed with legendary crooner Tony Bennett at the Grammy Awards, serving up the classic "It Had to Be You," their collaboration on Bennett's Duets II album. It is Underwood's appreciation for varied musical styles and her perpetual thirst for a creative challenge that laid the foundation for "Blown Away," her fourth and most adventurous album, due May 1 on 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville.

"I never feel like I've pigeon-holed myself into a certain kind of song," Underwood says. "I've taken all of my albums into as many different directions as possible, while still keeping them coherent. This is just a whole new level of that. I really do think there's something for everyone."

Sitting in the Music Row offices of XIX Management on a Friday afternoon, Underwood looks gorgeous even in purple sweatpants and a navy blue Nashville Predators sweatshirt, a nod to the hometown hockey team where her husband, Mike Fisher, is an NHL star. Pushing back her long blond locks, she smiles warmly and confidently begins discussing her forthcoming album. The Checotah, Okla., native has clearly come a long way from the shy young woman who won the fourth season of "American Idol" in 2005.

ZAC EFRON & TAYLOR SCHILLING talk about their love scenes in “THE LUCKY ONE”

Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling, stars of Warner Bros.' new romantic drama “The Lucky One” discuss their sizzing love scenes, among other things, in the big-screen adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks bestseller.

In the film, U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive—a photograph he found of a woman he doesn’t even know. Discovering her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

Q: Taylor, can you talk about the love story aspect of the film. Was it more challenging to play the emotional aspects or the physical aspects of the love scenes, which I imagine were carefully choreographed?

Taylor Schilling: Well, for me they’re completely different. And I would say, I spent a little bit more time in preparation for her emotional journey and the experiences that Beth was having with Logan and how that was relating to the rest of her life.

DARK KNIGHT RISES | 7 new photos from Entertainment Weekly!

EW exclusive! A Bane tribute to Harvey Dent. A BatPad? Cat burglar! See 'em all and more here; pick up our Summer Movie Preview issue for the full story on Batman's newest (and final) adventure.

HIGH-TECH HERO
Batman (Christian Bale) palms a piece of Bat technology (the BatPad?) in front of a mass of police cars in the street. Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) may have ostensibly closed up shop eight years ago (in the movie's timeline), but Batman can never go toolong without his gadgets.

CAT BURGLAR
Anne Hathaway may look at home in Selina Kyle's high-society thief get-up (for today's modern anti-heroine on the go!), but when director Nolan first asked to meet her, Hathaway assumed she would be going in for the role of Harley Quinn, the Joker's villainess sidekick. ''About an hour into the meeting he said, 'It's Catwoman,' and I went, 'Oh, no, I played this wrong,''' she says. ''I didn't think they would revisit that character, because Michelle's performance had been so iconic. But Chris just does his own thing.''

MAGIC MIKE | Real life story of CHANNING TATUM as a male stripper! Stunning cast includes Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello & Matt Bomer!

Magic Mike is an upcoming comedy film directed by Steven Soderbergh starring Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello, and Matt Bomer in leading roles. The film is expected to be released on June 29, 2012 in the US.

Veteran stripper Magic Mike (Tatum) teaches a new stripper (Pettyfer) about the occupation. They work at the club Xquisite, which is owned by the former stripper Dallas (McConaughey).

Magic Mike is directed by Steven Soderbergh based on a screenplay by Reid Carolin, who is also one of the film's producers. The film stars Channing Tatum, and the screenplay is in part based on Tatum's experiences as a stripper in Tampa, Florida when he was 19 years old. The project was announced in April 2011, and after Soderbergh cast Tatum and Pettyfer in the lead roles, Carolin spent time revising the screenplay. The project was co-financed by Soderbergh and Tatum. Filming began in Tampa in September 2011 and wrapped by late October.
