It hasn't even been a month since American Idol signed Mariah Carey and it seems the show is already freaking out on the singer's rider.
According to Star magazine, “The ink has barely dried on Mariah Carey’s American Idol contract, but the new judge isn’t shy about telling the producers exactly what she requires… starting with an $18 million a year salary!”
It strange though but shouldn't the salary be closed by now as part of the contract? Hmm...
According to the tabloid, money was just item No. 1 in the list of ridiculous demands. Apparently, the singer is “dead set on looking better than her predecessor” Jennifer Lopez, reports the magazine.
Star Magazine's so-called “source” says, “J. Lo showed up week after week in some pretty amazing outfits, and Mariah wants to make sure that hers are better.”
Another supposed outrageous demand of must-have includes a “dressing room fit for a queen” and a play space with organic baby beds for her 15-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe. Mariah apparently wants to spend time with her husband Nick Cannon "during" the show.
Mariah Carey visited the Philippines back in 2003 for the Charmbracelet Tour, and I am inclined to believe the story given that I was part of the crew that took care of her when she was here for that concert, and boy was that an experience. However, a rep for Carey tells Gossip Cop that the Star story is “totally absurd.”
